I think most of us agree that 2020 kicked rocks. Although we can’t predict if 2021 will be any better, we should all be ready to go into the new year with positive attitudes. I came up with four things working moms can do to be more productive in 2021.
Have I mentioned I work a full-time job outside the home, run a blog, run a household with hubby, and run after two kids? So I don’t always feel like I’m a good steward of my time. I felt like I moved through the whole year in full zombie mode, but I want to change that next year and help you do the same.

Get yourself a planner
If you plan to have a productive 2021 and beyond, you need to have a place to keep up with all aspects of your life. I love keeping a planner because it allows me to keep up with the kid’s doctor’s appts, bills, and anything else that I may forget. Of course, you can keep up with half of your life on your phone, but it’s nice to have a planner to revert to.
Day Designer has beautiful planners and is excellent for Moms in every aspect of their life.
Say “NO” to things that waste your time
Are you that mom that says “yes” to everything that people ask you to do? I know there have been times when I was left feeling like, why did I sign up for this when I knew I could be doing other productive things with my time.
The great thing about saying “NO” is that it doesn’t need any further explanation. Time is precious and shouldn’t be wasted on things that don’t help you in life or business. I spent countless hours talking on the phone when I could have been using that time to work on my blog. What can you say “NO” to today?

Follow through on your commitments
Now that we all have learned how to say the word “NO,” lol….. if you have indeed said yes to something that will benefit you and your time, do your best to follow through. Are you in charge of a group project at work, or have you volunteered to bake cookies for your kid’s class? Then you have to do what you say you are going to do.
Do what you have to do to get things done. If you struggle to stay focused, especially if you have been at work all day, commit yourself to small tasks to execute with ease. If you are running a blog, break your tasks down into small things you can do daily.
Organize, Organize, Organize
There is nothing like an organized home, car, and workspace. When things are clean and organized, my brain can function better, and I am more willing to be productive.
It is also important to ensure that you have an organized space at work. You can’t be as productive at work if you have a messy space. I love using products from Grove Collaborative to help keep my home clean and organized.
