I am a mom who works outside my home and identifies as a homemaker. Life can be challenging for a mom, especially for moms with jobs/careers. I have 5 great home-making habits for working moms.

As a woman working outside my home, I can provide some helpful homemaking tips for working moms. These are practices that help me, and I hope that they can be beneficial to you too.
Stay Organized Daily
Staying organized will help you out with your homemaking. One of my favorite ways to stay organized is to keep track of my daily tasks. If you are a mom that works, you know that you have limited time to get all your home tasks done.
How to organize your day as a busy mom – SoporiaD
This is a perfect time to get a planner or notebook to jot down all your to-do lists. Using a planner not only helps you keep track of all your tasks but also lets you keep track of all the functioning parts of your home. You can use a planner to help you keep up with appointments, cleaning tasks, and your budget. I don’t know where I would be without my planner.
Another great way to stay organized is to keep your house clutter minimal. The fewer things you have to pick up around the house, the better. It’s also a great idea to ensure everything in the home has a place.
Prep At Night For A Better Morning
Prepping at night helps my homemaking run smoothly. If you implement this habit into your nighttime routine, you will have a more effective morning. The one thing I love doing a night is packing lunches and picking out clothes for my kiddos. When we wake up the next day, we can get out the door in a shorter period of time.
Cleaning your home at night can be helpful because you don’t have to waste time trying to tidy up the following day. This homemaking habit saves me so much time, mainly because most of my day is spent at work.
Meal planning at night is also helpful. You don’t have to be a super chef to make good meals for your family. I am not the best cook in the world, so I love to find simple recipes I can easily prep and serve the next day. This brings me to my next tip for the next homemaking habit.
Cook Simple Meals
Keep your meals simple. You don’t have to make top-chef meals every night. My kids are still small and don’t like eating complicated dishes. I can make them chicken and rice, mac n cheese, and anything that takes under 20 minutes to cook. Meal prepping is an excellent way to save time and create good homemaking habits, especially if you are a busy mom on the go.
Crockpot and sheet pan meals always save the day. You can make these dishes in bulk and use what’s left for another night. Pasta is another great idea because you don’t have to complicate this meal. Sandwiches and burgers are easy to make and are super delicious.

Use The Weekend To Prep For The Week
Prepping on the weekend is the best way for busy moms to get things. If you are a working mom, you know you have limited time during the week. I use the weekend to do most of my major cleaning around the house. Friday night is my dedicated day to wash a few loads of clothes, and I fold all laundry on Saturday. We are a family of 4, so we usually don’t have large loads of clothes to clean.
Using a meal delivery service can be convenient. Ordering groceries on the weekend is a good way to make sure to have groceries throughout the week. I love using Walmart+ to order my grocery items. They deliver everything to our home, and I can use the extra time to knock things off my mommy to-do list.
Quick Tidy Up Before You Start Your Work Day
Doing a quick 15 to 20-minute cleaning-up session before you head out the door will save you time and headaches. I always make sure to have a clean-up session before leaving for work. This can be as simple as making sure all the beds are made, and the clutter is cleaned from the floor and countertops.
Washing dishes from the night before or putting away your kid’s toys are great homemaking habits to learn. Using tools to help keep your home clean will come in handy. Our iRobot works wonders with picking up dirt on the floor.
I speak from a Christian perspective. Putting God first in our home is my best homemaking habit. He truly protects my sanity and makes me a better mom for our children.
