MY HEART SHOT THROUGH THE ROOF when I found out I was having a girl. Being a girl mom is one of my greatest accomplishments. Being a girl mom has so many advantages, but there can also be a few crazy moments. In my post, you will find out if you are ready to be a girl mom.
WHAT I WILL COVER
- Girls are so easy to shop for
- You have a little best friend
- You understand your daughter’s ups and downs
- Prepare for the attitude
- Your daughter may try to challenge you
- You will always be wrong
The love that I have for my daughter surpasses any feelings of love I ever knew existed. Girls are so fun to have, but you must juggle organizing your day around your sweet girl.
I have a girl and a boy. My girl requires a little more of my attention than my son. She needs more cuddle time, and her feelings can be easily hurt.
In today’s post, I will give you some fun and not-so-fun experiences of being a girl mom.
Girls are so easy to shop for
Let’s state the obvious here. Shopping for girls is so much fun. Not only are there a plethora of fashion options for them. Stores have so many different and inexpensive styles you can buy.
Did I fail to mention the hair accessories? You can find cute clothing pieces at Walmart, Target, Old Navy, and even Amazon. Ahh, I live for the hair accessories alone.
Being a girl mom allows you to get creative with the latest trends, and your daughter will still have fun because she will think you two are playing dress-up.
You have a little best friend
Your daughter will try to follow you everywhere you go, “LITERALLY.” You will have so much fun thinking of the places you and your little girl will go to together.
Planning pamper day will be so lit. I have so much fun when my plus one and I get that special quality time together.
Spending time with your daughter will help you two bond and grow a super tight relationship.
You understand your daughter’s ups and downs
No one will understand your daughter entirely as you do. She is, after all, a half duplicate of you. I was a very different little girl than my daughter (so my mother says), but I understand some of her emotions and why she reacts the way she does.
Your daughter will more than likely be more comfortable talking to you as opposed to dad. When my little girl is feeling down, she feels better after I snuggle with her. If she needs something to get off her chest, I am the person she will run to first.
Prepare for the attitude
Here comes the attitude. I kid you not, my daughter and I started beefing when she turned nine months, lol. Now that all the fun parts of being a girl mom are out of the way. Your daughter may test your patience EVERY DAY.
Little girls have so many emotions. Just remember to be patient and try your best to discuss it with them. When my little girl gives me attitude, I like to figure out the root cause. Once I figure out what is going on, I know what type of conversation I need to have with her.
Your daughter may try to challenge you.
Your daughter trying to challenge you goes hand and hand with her attitude. What I mean by challenge is that your daughter will say certain things to get under your skin. Your little one may also say certain things to get a reaction.
My daughter gets in her moods from time to time. Sometimes I don’t know if I am her friend or enemy. Either way, relax and be ready for the emotional rollercoaster.
You will always be wrong
You will always be wrong, kind of. Why do little girls think that they have all the answers? I know this also bleeds over into their teenage years.
My daughter feels that everything that comes out of my mouth must be questioned and fact-checked. I am hoping that this is a phase that passes soon.
I hope you have enjoyed today’s post. Do you feel confident that you can be a fantastic girl mom? Let me know if you have a girl or expecting a baby girl. I would love to hear from you.
