“Help! No one supports my blogging career. When you start a blog or any career for that matter, not everyone is going to be on board with you. When I told some of my family that I wanted to take my blog more seriously and build a career around it, I received a few blank stares.
I don’t think my husband fully understood what having a blogging career meant. He often thinks I’m writing a bunch of words on the computer without any rhyme or reason, lol.
We are conditioned at a young age to go to school, make good grades, and find a good job in Corporate America. When we hear of others working from home or having a career that allows them to make money on their own terms, we think, wow, they must be the lucky ones.

4 Simple reason why blogging may be right for you
I’m here to tell you that you can have the blogging career of your dreams. I will give you some encouragement if your family and friends don’t support your blogging career. If you like the post, please leave me a comment below. I would love to hear some of the pushback you may receive from starting your blogging career.
Don’t be deterred from your dreams
Family and friends are not always going to support dreams that they themselves are not passionate about. Your goals and ambitions are tailored specifically for you. Don’t let anyone stop you from doing the things that you are passionate about. Not everyone will get it, and you have to be ok with that.
When people ask me what I am passionate about, I mention blogging. But, unfortunately, they often reply, “ wait, isn’t that just writing stories on the internet,” they have no idea that people are out here making a full-time income in this blogging space.
Some links may contain affiliate links, if you click on them and make a purchase I may receive a commission. It is at no additional cost to you.
If you are serious about your blogging career and are looking for some good options for web hosting. I use Bluehost. They have some affordable plans and friendly customer service.
Gain motivation from peers in your niche
You can get support from other bloggers in your same niche that inspire you. This is my favorite way to gain motivation to keep blogging. When I see my favorite bloggers killing it in this space, it gives me the confidence I need to keep going.
You can also follow other bloggers in your niche, on other social media platforms. Some of my faves also have YouTube channels that I subscribe to for weekly advice and tips. Now the goal is to get inspiration and not to be a carbon copy of someone else. You are unique and I know you have your own flavor to bring to this blogging world.
Read other blog success stories for support
It may benefit you to read other blogger’s success stories. I love when bloggers share their income reports or how they went from working in Corporate America to having a successful blogging career. Success stories show me that you can really make it out here in this space because society often tells you that you can’t make it without having a “real job.”
I love reading different blogs for inspiration. Most bloggers are very transparent and are willing to share their tips on how they grew their blogs.
Get some blogger/business-minded friends
Another way to find support is to find friends that share your same interests. For example, find friends that share a passion for blogging, that way, you can feed ideas off of each other.
Having blogger friends can also be helpful when it comes to things you may not know how to do. They can show you how to do a specific thing, or you guys can figure it out together.
Having a blogger buddy is helpful in more ways than one. Your family and friends may not get your blogging lingo. Did I hear someone say “SEO” lol? A good way to connect with other bloggers is through Facebook. It wouldn’t hurt if you joined a blogging group or two.
Attend blogging conferences
Attending a blogging conference can be super motivational. You are among other blogging peers and people that think similar to you. Most blogging conferences are packed with so much meaningful information and advice. I definitely plan on attending a few this year if I can, even if it’s online or through zoom.
