Being a new blogger already has its own challenges, now throw being a busy mom into the mix. I bet you are wondering how do you run a blog while having to do all the things? I’m not going to lie, it’s hard, but don’t worry, I gotcha. I will show you how to run a new blog for busy moms.
Running a new blog is possible with careful planning and good strategy. I use to struggle with trying to run my blog. Thankfully I found a routine that works perfectly for me.
Set a blogging schedule
Are you a busy mom? Do you want to run a successful blog? If you have answered yes to both these questions, then you need to set a blogging schedule. Creating a schedule for your blog helps you stay on task and helps you be a more productive blogger.
At the beginning of my blogging career, I would go with the flow and do blogging tasks as they would come into my head. I was always left wondering why I couldn’t get anything done. If you are a busy mom, then running a blog can feel complicated, but I will give you some good tips to help you out.
Here is an example of my blogging schedule. This schedule helps me to organize my blogging tasks daily. It’s simple and easy to use. Don’t complicate this process. You can get a notebook or planner. Use whatever you like. Just have a schedule and stick to it.
Blog Schedule Example
Work on your blog in small chunks each day
Break your blog task down into small chunks. As you can see on my blogging schedule, I have specific tasks I do on certain days of the week.
It would help if you did this so that you don’t become overwhelmed. I like breaking things down because I can decide what times I can best fit my tasks in the day.
Writing every day has also helped me a lot. If possible, you should try to knock your blog post out in a few hours. I know that is not always realistic for a busy mom. So I write a little each day so that by the end of the week, I will put up a new post.
4 Things working moms can do to be productive in 2021
Find spare time to work on your blog
In the morning, before I get out of bed and go to work, I’ll jump on Pinterest and pin a few pins. Your lunch break is the perfect time to work on your blog because you are free from most distractions. Having a great blogging business is possible. You have to prioritize your time.
I have a post that shows you how you can use Pinterest as leverage to boost your blog traffic.
When the kids are sleeping at night, use that time to also work on your blog. I sometimes find myself working in the wee hours of the morning. The house is quiet at that time, and I can think more clearly.
There are 24 hours in the day, you have to find the time if you want to be successful in this blogging game.
Keep a list of all your blogging ideas
You want to make sure to keep a running list of all your blog post ideas. You can keep a list on your phone or your planner.
Using a content calendar is very helpful. I print my calendars from a website https://print-a-calendar.com/. I also like to use the notes on my iPhone. The iPhone notes section allows you to mark off items when you have finished a certain task.
If you are wanting to start a new blog, Bluehost has some affordable web hosting plans available.
Some links may be affiliate links, in which I may earn a commission if you purchase through the link. It is at no additional charge to you.
Don’t be discouraged
The most important tip is not to be discouraged. When I get so wrapped up with family and work chores, I feel like my blog is suffering. If you can prioritize your time and create a good blogging schedule, you will start to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
