I must have been crazy to think I could do this thing called blogging without Pinterest. Not only is Pinterest fun to use, but it’s also beneficial to new bloggers. In my post, I will be showing you why you should be using Pinterest to skyrocket your blog.
When I first started my blog about 3 years ago, I had no idea I could use Pinterest to help me generate traffic to my blog. Lucky for you, I will be showing you how to do it.

I have been rocking with Pinterest for a long time because I love the platform. I wish someone would have slapped me (ok, not an actual slap… ouch) and told me sooner that it is a perfect tool for bloggers. It is important to use Pinterest to help skyrocket your blog.
In today’s post, I will give you four reasons why I love using Pinterest as a blogger and why you should too.
- It’s perfect if you don’t have a large platform anywhere else
- Get more traffic to your blog
- Automate your pins
- Make pinnable images on your blog post
So you don’t have a huge following
If you are anything like me, you probably don’t have thousands of followers on any other platform. I barely use Instagram or Facebook; I mainly log on to keep up with family or friends.
My business page for Insta is another story for another post. The point is, Pinterest is great because it allows you to grow your monthly views pretty quickly. You don’t need a bunch of followers to get your content out there to potential readers.
With the other platforms I feel like if you don’t have a huge following, no one will see your posts. I have had more success with Pinterest than other platforms I’ve shared my posts.
Traffic… on Traffic… on Traffic
Did I fail to mention Pinterest is everything when it comes to driving traffic to your blog? Before I started being more intentional with Pinterest, I wondered why no one was reading my blog posts.
I had no idea how crucial Pinterest was. If you execute a plan, Pinterest can help you win in this blogging game. Sorry, you are going to see the word “Pinterest” a million times in this post.
Pinterest has switched things up a little. Now they like you to start using more of your own pins or fresh pins, as they call it. I no longer save or repin a bunch of other pins to my boards. I have learned to make new pins for my own content and add new pins daily.
Automate those pins hun
So another thing I love is pin automation. I will definitely be making another post about how I do this and other tips on how I actually use Pinterest in conjunction with my blog.
I use Canva to make all my Pinterest images, and I also use Canva to automate all my pins right to Pinterest. This saves me so much time because you can set a specific date and time when you want those pins to be published.
I have updated this post, so now I also use a tool called Tailwind. Tailwind allows me to automate my pins with ease. They have so many plans to fit your budget. You can start for free, and if you like it, you can work your way up to one of their paid plans.
I sit down and make a month’s worth of content on Pinterest in a few hours using this tool. I’m sure they have other automation tools you can use, but Canva and Tailwind have worked best for me.
You can make your post pinnable
What does “pinnable image” even mean, you may be asking yourself. To make it simple, your readers can save your blog posts straight to their Pinterest boards by clicking on an image within your post. Again I will go over creating a pinnable image in another post, mainly because I am currently learning this method myself, lol.
I love this idea because if someone lands on your post and saves it to Pinterest, whoever looks at that board may see your post, thus creating more traffic to your blog.
I hope you liked today’s post on why you should be using Pinterest to skyrocket your blog. Don’t forget to drop me a comment and subscribe to my email list, so you don’t miss out on my posts.
