Should you work a 9 to 5 or be a rocking mom boss? If you are like me, then you have been contemplating this for quite some time now. Before I had my kids, I had no problem getting into the 9 to 5 grind.
My life is so different now, and if I must be honest, it’s tough raising kids and trying to manage work outside the home. Now don’t get me wrong, I know that work from home life has its challenges, but I see much more value in the valley with being at home with my kiddos.
This blog post will give you a few reasons why I’m working towards being a fabulous work-at-home mom boss. If you are like me and working towards that entrepreneur life, please drop me a comment down below. I would love to hear from you. Ok, let’s jump right into it this thing.

I’m tired of the 9 to 5 grind
Let me start by saying how thankful I am for having a job. This is in no way a complaint post about any jobs I currently have or have had in the past. I’m just getting to a certain point where having work outside the home job is no longer serving a greater purpose in my life.
I am very hands-on with my children, and I have a ton of mom guilt when I leave them. I feel like I am missing out on big milestones in their life and I want to capture it all.
I also have my own dreams and ambitions, and they no longer match up with what Corporate America has to offer me. I think it’s important to be your own boss and have more control over your success. I can no longer rely on a company to decide when and how I get paid when I get promoted and how I should measure up to my peers.

More structured home life
Now hear me out on this one. I know your thinking, how can your home life be more structured by working at home? Well, all I can say is that for me, it will be easier. When I’m at work, I have no idea what my kiddos are up to. I know that they are one hundred percent cared for, but my husband and I get home at different times of the day.
Our home schedule is always different every day. I would love a prepared meal around the same time every night or a consistent bath time. If I am already at home, then I could have more control over my schedule. I know that it won’t be perfect, but I feel like I would have a better handle on our day.
Leaving a legacy
You can totally leave a legacy for your children by working a regular 9 to 5. I, however, want to be a mom boss on my own terms. I want to have more control over my income and my time. It’s important for me to show my children the importance of entrepreneurship and building a brand.
I want to build wealth and success in my own way. I know that I can get there by having my own business and being my own boss. There is freedom in providing a comfortable life for my family and me. I may not be there yet, but I know that nothing is going to stop me from being the woman God has called me to be.
